Heather received her graduate degree from college of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. Heather has worked in the nursing field for over 30 years leading to the specialty of psychiatric and addiction nurse practitioner.

Heather has experience in substance use, detox, ECT, SPMI, Neurodivergence/Intellectual delays, long acting injectables (LAI), Medication Assisted treatment (MAT) working with persons of minorities and disparities such as those of the BIPOC and LGBTQ/poly communities.

Her practice philosophy is to prevent and reduce suffering by partnering with clients to reach their fullest potential. Heather provides a safe space for clients to talk freely and be themselves. She practices person centered care and is not afraid to look outside the box.

Heather recognizes medications are sometimes needed, but are only a part of the multidisciplinary approach.

She wants to collaborate with her clients and hear their thoughts, while examining treatment options, risks, and benefits. She looks for the most appropriate treatment using her experience and evidence-based practice as well as resources in the community.

Heather works well with those in residential centers, group homes, foster care, and with those on civil commitments.
