Heather takes a nursing first approach. Caring for each of her clients in a compassionate way. Heather has over 30 years of nursing experience. Her early career included complex psychiatric practice working in settings providing: ECT, detox, inpatient chemical dependency at Fairview and Unity, detox settings as well as working with civil commitment clients at Anoka State Hospital. She currently provides outpatient medication management and mentors the next generation of APRNs by precepting students and supervising new graduates.
Heather takes a collaborative, patient-centered approach to medication management. Her practice begins with a thorough history to establish a partnership and develop the best care plan, prioritizing lifestyle changes, symptom management and monitoring, and, when necessary, pharmacological intervention. She has successfully helped many clients reduce their medications and achieve a fulfilling, comfortable life.
In 2026 Heather will be using GLP-1s for clients experiencing metabolic side effects from their mental health medications to encourage compliance and adherence.
Heather is a member of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American NursesAssociation (ANA). Heather is a US Army Veteran. She is a graduate of the University of Phoenix for her undergrad and completed post masters studies at the College of St Scholastica, Duluth MN as an advanced practice nurse practitioner. Heather is an ally to BIPOC and LGBTQIIA+ working with many pre/post surgical interventions.
Outside of work you will find Heather with her family: her husband of over 31 years, 2 son’s and 2 grandchildren (so far). Heather spends her weekends camping at the lake, boating, fishing, swimming, snowmobiling, and traveling to somewhere warm in the winter.
